Yes indeedy, something different for you today, a chara. We’re putting this painting up for raffle – in aid of Motor Neurone Disease Research in Ireland.
It’s one of my oil paintings from the Diaspora series. You can read all about it here.
Motor Neurone Disease or MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink or breathe. It is a progressive, life-limiting disease but the rate of progression varies greatly from one person to another. There are about 420 people living with MND in Ireland.
There is no known cure for MND but research centres in 16 European countries have been working together since 2019 to try to develop effective treatments for it.
They really need our support. Hence this raffle. The short video below is the official launch of the raffle. (If you don’t see it immediately below, you need to click into the blog itself.)
The tickets for the raffle are €10 each. Of course you can donate more (and if you do, you’ll have more chances of winning the painting). All of the money received will go to facilitate crucial research into the causes, treatment and best care solutions for those diagnosed with the disease.
Click on this iDonate Link and then click on the green “DONATE NOW” button to be in the raffle. The actual raffle will take place (live) at the Olivier Cornet Gallery on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
And can I thank you in advance for your amazing generosity.
Go raibh míle, míle maith agat!

Hi Eoin, I want to share this to some groups and individuals on WhatsApp but can’t. Those I want to send it to are not on FB or Twitter. Great idea!

I tried to make a donation but it would not accept my address in Irish, which is how I always give it. I am happy to give you the amount in person, with or without access to the raffle.

Tá brón orm faoi sin, a Dhiarmuid, níl aon tionchar agamsa ar an fhoirm ach ta s’agam go bhfuil an-spéis ag mo chairde san teanga ar aon nós. (Is féidir leat iad a fheiscint sa scannán) Cinnte bheadh muid an-bhuíoch as do thacaíocht. Más mian leat, dfhéadfaí an t-airgead a chur isteach i litir bosca an Ghailearaí ag 3 Sráid na Danmhairge Mhór (le d’ainm is do sheoladh). Beidh an chranncar fhéin á reachtail ar an 20ú lá de mhí Bealtaine.
