So I should be telling you about my video projection in the Garden of Remembrance and my upcoming solo exhibition at the The Olivier Cornet Gallery but first, I want to mention our new allotment.
In the grounds of Pearse College on the Clogher Road, Dublin 12, there are over 100 allotments tucked away behind the houses and just waiting to welcome care-worn city dwellers and amateur gardeners into this haven of tranquillity. And although there’s talk of another cold snap, another ‘Beast from the East’, for the moment it’s just nice to be digging the earth and thinking about nature and her abundance.
But now…
But now, some news about my exhibition. The official opening is at 6.30pm on the 7th of March, 2023 and the guest speaker will be historian, author, broadcaster and university professor Diarmaid Ferriter.
I mentioned previously that the exhibition – Cogadh na gCarad/ the War between Friends – will feature a good number of the 1400 charcoal drawings that I made to commemorate the 1400 people who were killed during the Irish Civil War. I’ve also been collaborating on a video projection, a selection of the drawings, slowly merging from one to the next. This will be projected on the back wall of the Garden of Remembrance on the opening night. The best place to view it will be from opposite The Hugh Lane Gallery.
Your invitation will be available soon.
