Mol an Óige

child's drawing at the Harold's Cross Festival, 2022

Hardly time to write this week. Just a mention of the Harold’s Cross Village Community Festival which happened last weekend.  There was a great buzz in the park and once again, we were lucky that the rain held off.

I was delighted to be asked to judge the Children’s Art Competition although it must be said that this is not an easy task – choosing from all the wonderful and imaginative artworks produced by the children.  The image above is a detail from one of the works from St Clare’s National School.

But here’s a thought:  there really shouldn’t be art competitions.  Every budding artist should be encouraged to blossom – not to compete with others.

Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sí.  What do you think?
