Something different for January…

Ah no, we’re not going to torment ourselves here with talk of New Year Resolutions. Aren’t we under enough pressure already without giving ourselves more challenges and “chores” to worry about? Not that I’m against self improvements, mind, it’s just that… well, wouldn’t the 14th of June or the 22nd of September be a better time to start, rather than in the cold and dark days of January.

So I just want to wish you a Happy New Year and also to thank you for subscribing to my blog. (if you haven’t yet, you could do so now, it’s better than just seeing it on facebook (and I promise I’ll never tell you what I had for breakfast). It’s free, it just means that you’ll get an email each week when I put up a new post.

No, this is an art blog, it’s mostly musings about the art scene in Ireland. This term, I’m back doing life drawing at the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA). Here’s one I did earlier…

  Pencil drawing on lining paper.

PS: Your own musings are very welcome. I’d love to hear from you.

  1. What a beautiful and sensitive line you have in this drawing. It is so good to see GOOD drawing! I read your guest post on Kristina’s blog and like the painting of the fireplace very much. It ensouls the photo, the photo becomes more after having passed through your eye and heart. The photo is good too, but I know what you mean about a painting being more of an investment.
