I’m delighted to report that John Lonergan, the author and former governor of Mountjoy Prison, has kindly agreed to open my exhibition in The Bourn Vincent Gallery in the University of Limerick. A native of Bansha in Co. Tipperary, he is a man who has always stood with the poor and marginalised in our society. His book, The Governor, published by Penguin Ireland, is revealing, inspiring and full of wisdom.
My other piece of news is that I have a small book coming out myself in the near future – to coincide with the exhibition in Limerick. ( that’s the front cover below ) It has a fine essay by the art historian Róisín Kennedy in it, as well as images from my current body of work. It will be available from www.blurb.com
